چکیده
Pharmaceutical scientists around the globe have been seeking to discover as an alternative injections over last few, transdermal and transmucosal routes decades. The buccal cavity mucosa most convenient easily available site for distribution of local systemic therapeutic agents was found be dosage forms among numerous sitesavailable.Theories various polymers used in mucoadhesive drug delivery. Mucoadhesive increases residence time, prolong absorption, enhances solubilityand dissolution characteristics poorly soluble drugs. In addition, we are focused on latest generation mucoadhesion polymers, led by formulation oral drugs, such thiolated polymers. A good insight into phenomenon factors that can affect polymer is given current analysis. systematic delivery has investigated treatment or therapy subjected first pass metabolism. Oral discussing structural features mucosa, mechanism mucoadhesion. General consideration design forms, permeation enhancers evalution method along with literature survey mucoadhesive.

Mucoadhesive drug delivery system: An overview
Mucoadhesive drug delivery systems interact with the mucus layer covering the mucosal epithelial surface, and mucin molecules and increase the residence time of the dosage form at the site of absorption. The drugs which have local action or those which have maximum absorption in gastrointestinal tract (GIT) require increased duration of stay in GIT. Thus, mucoadhesive dosage forms are advantage...
متن کاملNovel Aproaches - Mucoadhesive Buccal Drug Delivery System
Among novel drug delivery systems, Buccal mucoadhesive systems have attracted great attention in recent years due to their ability to adhere and remain on the oral mucosa and to release their drug content gradually. Mucoadhesion may be defined as the process where polymers attach to biological substrate or a synthetic or natural macromolecule, to mucus or an epithelial surface. Buccal mucoadhes...

The use of nasal cavity as a route of administration of drugs, specifically systemically acting drugs that pose a delivery challenge, have become an area of great interest to the pharmaceutical companies in the past decade. The physiology of the nasal cavity allows for variety of drug delivery possibilities and destinations which include local, systemic, vaccine, and access to the central nervo...
متن کاملPolymers in Mucoadhesive Drug Delivery System: A Brief Note
Bioadhesion can be defined as the process by which a natural or a synthetic polymer can adhere to a biological substrate. When the biological substrate is a mucosal layer then the phenomena is known as mucoadhesion. The substrate possessing bioadhesive property can help in devising a delivery system capable of delivering a bioactive agent for a prolonged period of time at a specific delivery si...
متن کاملPolymers in Mucoadhesive Drug Delivery System-latest Updates
Bioadhesion can be defined as a phenomenon of interfacial molecular attractive forces amongst the surfaces of the biological substrate and the natural or synthetic polymers, which allows the polymer to adhere to the biological surface for an extended period of time. Bioadhesive polymeric systems have been used in the development of products for various biomedical applications and surgical glue....
